Angels - Archangel Michael

(Feast Day: Sept. 29) Part of our "Angels" series, this rosary honors St. Michael the Archangel. Swarovski pearl Paters reflect the purity of this heavenly spirit, while the Aves are dark hemalyke, echoing his power in defeating darkness at the head of God's army of angels. The name Michael means "Who is like unto God?", the angels' warcry challenge to any who arrogantly aspire to become gods themselves. The pewter rondelles, cross, and heart charm remind us of both Michael's love for us, as well as his strong presence to defend and protect us against evil in this life. Fittingly, he is the patron saint of police officers.

St. Monica (1 Decade)

(Feast Day: Aug. 27) St. Monica was married to a violent pagan man whose difficult mother lived with them. Her patient prayers, represented here by pale pink coral beads, converted her husband and mother-in-law in 370 A.D. One year later, Monica`s son and daughter entered religious life. For 17 more years, she prayed for the conversion of her other son. Even priests marveled at her persistence for a `hopeless` case, but one priest said, `it is not possible that the son of so many tears should perish.` Her tears are evident here as shining Swarovski pearls, because her son, St. Augustine, converted, was baptized by St. Ambrose, and became one of the most notable Doctors of the Church. St. Pope John Paul II (5 Decade)

POPE JOHN PAUL II - (Feast Day: October 22nd - the anniversary of the liturgical inauguration of his papacy in 1978) After trying for years to come up with a fitting rosary for JPII, I found myself fixed on two images: his simple brown loafers and rough crucifix. Popes traditionally wore red leather shoes, but JPII quickly switched to his favorite brown loafers from a Polish cobbler. Those he wore, while lying in state, were a personal Christmas gift from a friend. The colors are echoed here in brown-red jasper, reminscent of JPII's unpretentious, humble upbringing and simple, sturdy soul. Amidst that simplicity, topaz Swarovski crystals, gold tone rondelles, and gold filled spacers and diamond-cut cross sparkle, reflecting the dignity of his priestly vestments as Vicar of Christ in the chair of St. Peter and his ultimate sainthood. Santo Subito!

Her family, however, thought her such a beautiful treasure they called her Rose, which is represented here by rose Swarovski crystals and black glass and black cloisonne beads with swirled pink roses. St. Rose remained humble, however, dedicating herself to God in childhood and roughening her appearance to avoid vanity. She spent long hours in solitary prayer in a hermitage, and offered up her frequent illnesses, which are recalled in the simple black Czech glass beads. She often prayed, `Lord, increase my sufferings, and with them increase Your love in my heart!` Her heroic holiness is shown in the 14K gold filled spacers, heishi beads, and diamond cut cross.

St. Valentine (1 Decade)

(Feast Day: Feb. 14) In the 3rd century, the Roman Emperor Aurelius banned young men from marrying, because he thought married men made poor soldiers. Bishop Valentine of Terni, Italy, however, believed marriage was part of God`s plan, so he secretly joined young couples in holy matrimony. The emperor learned of this `friend of lovers,` but was impressed with Valentine`s conviction, so he tried to convert Valentine to the pagan Roman gods to save him from execution. But, Valentine refused to renounce Christianity. In February 273 A.D., Saint Valentine was clubbed, stoned, and beheaded. In 1644 A.D., the city of Terni proclaimed St. Valentine the patron saint of their city and lovers everywhere! Some folks have asked for a loose bangle size bracelet (2 1/2 inch diameter), as opposed to the standard size snug wrap (1 3/4 inch diameter), which hugs your wrist.  Sometimes a bangle also is appropriate to wrap a large wrist or an older lady's wrist more comfortably.  Both sizes in both the one and five decade rosaries maintain their shape and neither requires a clasp.

1.   Bangle size five decade rosary wrap bracelet.     4.   Bangle size one decade rosary wrap bracelet.
2.   Standard snug size five decade rosary wrap bracelet. 5.   Standard snug size one decade rosary wrap bracelet.

Please Note!
Every effort is made to make your rosary wrap bracelet like the samples shown on this page.  Occasionally, however, I no longer can obtain a particular bead.  In that instance, a substitute bead of equal value and similar appearance will be made.  If a suitable substitute is unavailable, I will work out another beautiful alternative with you via e-mail.  Thank you!
'Tis the Season!
The photos at left show the difference between a bangle-size, five decade, "Merry Christmas!" (2 1/2" inch diameter - far left) and standard size (1 3/4" inch diameter - middle left). They're also shown nested (near left).

The two "Sts. Francis and Clare" rosary bracelets (right) show how sometimes I need to add beads to an original design in order to create the extra length needed for a bangle.

Pandora or Not?
Pandora Or Not?
Create an affordable, beautiful, one decade rosary bracelet in the Pandora style! Incorporate your own large hole beads or let us create a rosary bracelet for you! Like Pandora, all metal components are sterling silver. Shown here is the "St. Agatha - Survivor" I made for my mom for Mother's Day! Small smooth sterling silver beads flank the three faceted clear pink crystal Paters, with multiple beads as the ten Aves. Sterling silver alphabet beads in my Mom's initials are the first three Aves.

Ordering
Due to the investment and personalized nature, these rosary bracelets exclusively are custom made. Pick the recipient's or your favorite color, or incorporate your own beads, and we'll design it together! Photos will be e-mailed prior to shipment to ensure it is just what you envisioned.

Cost
The least expensive Pandora-brand bead costs $25.00, which would make this bracelet more than $400.00!  Using other suppliers, our "St. Agatha" shown costs only $250.00. (Prices vary according to bead components chosen.)
